Oilpainting “I love you too”

is the largest piece I’ve ever created,(135 by 200 cm, painted in 2021) and yet… This greatest Gay-Artwork (read more about Gay-Art, click on this link)  of me is still not finished!

It all started with a photo that really intrigued me, and since I had been wanting to paint on a larger scale for a long time, I thought, “Just go for it and see where it leads.” I knew Oilpainting “I love you” ( later I named it “I love you too”) would be a significant Gay Art piece, that much was certain. But once I considered it “finished,” I had my doubts. “Did I really need to paint a penetration/penis/erection? What’s the point of that? Provocation… I can handle that! But the more I looked at it, the more uncertain I became. It definitely wasn’t what I had envisioned-a beautiful Oil painting “I love you “-. I couldn’t even share it on social media. And was he (the man on the left) loving the boy…too? I don’t believe so. It’s more lust I see… and maybe that was also my drive to paint it. Provocate? Lust? Now I think it was a kind of processing my youth. “You don’t do that”…I heard often as a child …so when you are older; “Do it!” And I did, as you see.

So, after a few weeks, I made some adjustments, making it less realistic, and that did improve the painting. Still, I’m thinking of painting a “cover” or something over the explicit “sex” part… but when? Only if I’m sure it will make the painting better. Oilpainting “I love you too” is a work in progress. So for now, it remains as it is.
